Iconic actor-producer Sanjay Dutt, along with Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson of Aspect Global, and veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, officially unveiled the much-awaited project Khalnayak Returns at a star-studded event in Mumbai.
Sanjay Dutt will produce the sequel to the cult 1993 blockbuster Khalnayak under his banner Three Dimension Motion Pictures. He was joined at the launch by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios.
Speaking at the event, Sanjay Dutt shared his excitement about partnering with Aspect Global. “Aksha is my sister. Her children are like my own. We share a deep bond, and working with Aspect feels like collaborating with family. Together, I’m confident we’ll create exceptional cinema that also rakes in the moolah, because money talks in this industry,” he said.
He also praised his association with Jyoti Deshpande and Jio Studios, recalling their long-standing professional relationship.
Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai arrived later at the event, prompting a playful remark from Sanjay Dutt: “I’m waiting for you. Where on earth are you?”
Jyoti Deshpande said she was thrilled to be associated with the project and highlighted the lasting impact of Khalnayak on Indian cinema. She noted that the original film set new benchmarks in 1993 with its attention to detail and cultural impact.
Subhash Ghai, visibly delighted, praised Sanjay Dutt’s acting prowess and said it was a long-cherished dream to bring Khalnayak back to the big screen. He also promised that Khalnayak Returns would be bigger and better than the original.
The event ended on a light-hearted note when Jyoti Deshpande asked Ghai if he would make a cameo in the sequel. In response, the filmmaker joked that cameo prices go up once a person becomes a brand.
The announcement has generated major excitement among fans and film lovers, setting the stage for one of Bollywood’s most anticipated sequels.
