Amul Served Contaminated Curd on Vande Bharat!

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has taken action against Amul, a leading dairy brand, after live worms were reportedly found in its packaged curd served to a passenger on the Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express.

Following a rebuke from the railway ministry, IRCTC has not only imposed significant fines on itself and the service provider, Krishna Enterprises, but also directed the termination of the contract. In a statement, IRCTC expressed grave concern over the quality of Amul curd served on the train and announced the initiation of the process to terminate the contract and blacklist the train's licensee.

Amul has been summoned to explain the quality concerns related to its curd on March 27. IRCTC declined to disclose Amul's explanation. There has been no immediate response from Amul.

The incident occurred when a group of passengers discovered live worms and insects in an Amul packaged curd container served with their dinner on March 15. Ritesh Singh, one of the passengers, promptly raised the issue on social media, tagging IRCTC, the railway minister, and others.
