Congress MLC Vijayashanti has sparked political debate after expressing serious concerns over the safety of women in Telangana under the current government. Speaking about a recent incident involving a POCSO case accused, she alleged that police negligence played a crucial role in the accused securing bail. Vijayashanti claimed she was shocked by reports suggesting that the accused was allegedly helped through corrupt practices, adding that such lapses within the system can have devastating consequences.
Referring to the tragic killings allegedly committed by the accused after his release, Vijayashanti said the incident exposed major failures in law enforcement. She questioned how an individual facing such serious charges was able to obtain relief and stressed that the government must ensure accountability at every level. According to her, any officials found guilty of negligence or misconduct should face strict legal action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
