‘Bhogi’ Gets a Raksha Bandhan Twist

Director Sampath Nandi has unveiled an interesting detail about Sharwanand’s much-awaited action drama Bhogi on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The filmmaker revealed that Sharwanand’s character Ganga shares a special bond with five sisters in the film and marked the occasion with a poster featuring the siblings. Calling the five sisters the “soul” of Ganga and Bhogi, Sampath Nandi shared the glimpse on social media and teased audiences about the emotional dimension behind the film’s intense action world. The announcement adds another layer of curiosity around Ganga’s character and the family dynamics at the heart of the story.

The update comes amid a busy production phase for Bhogi. Sampath Nandi recently announced that another action-packed schedule had been completed soon after the film wrapped its challenging climax shoot. The climax was filmed over 22 continuous days on a massive set that reportedly took nearly three months to prepare, with more than 800 junior artistes participating in the sequence. Choreographed by stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan, the high-octane portions are expected to be among the film’s major theatrical attractions. The director has also revealed that a new song has been recorded, describing the track as a potential “timeless gem” created by Oscar-winning lyricist Chandrabose and composer Bheems Ceciroleo.

Sharwanand is said to be portraying Ganga in an intense and physically demanding role, with his transformation requiring several hours of makeup and removal every day. Anupama Parameswaran and Dimple Hayathi play the female leads as Kandula Sulochana Rani and Mandaram respectively, with both characters expected to have strong personalities of their own. Set in the early 1960s against the backdrop of a fictional village on the Telangana-Maharashtra border, Bhogi promises a blend of action, emotion and period drama.
