A fake Instagram profile, murder films and even ChatGPT — investigators say all three figured in the alleged conspiracy behind the shocking death of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal. A massive 5,053-page chargesheet filed by Pune Police has detailed how his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged accomplices allegedly planned his death.
According to the chargesheet, the accused initially considered seriously injuring Agarwal and even explored hiring someone from outside Maharashtra. Police allege they later abandoned that idea and decided to carry out the plan themselves. Investigators say the accused watched murder films, used ChatGPT and listened to podcasts about avoiding police detection. They also researched the 2025 Meghalaya honeymoon murder case involving Raja Raghuvanshi.
The chargesheet further alleges that a fake Instagram account named “Mahi” was created using a photograph of a woman known to the accused. Messages from the account allegedly lured Agarwal to Lohagad Fort on June 18 under the impression that it was connected to a surprise birthday plan. Police say the accused had earlier conducted a recce of locations around Lonavala before choosing Lohagad, allegedly because they believed his death could be made to look like an accidental fall. Siya Goyal, Chetan Chaudhary and Ritesh Hange have been arrested in connection with the case. The allegations are contained in the police chargesheet and will be subject to judicial proceedings.
